Appreciation Feedback

This Feedback tool focuses on sharing appreciation and curiosity about each other. Regular, safe feedback is one of the most important ingredients in building constructive relationships and thriving community groups.

Feedback exercises aim to support groups to build trust and openness and for individuals to gain self-awareness. Feedback should always be conducted with thoughtfulness and care. Your group will need at least some experience of working together, as a basis for giving feedback.

Group Size: 2 - 40+ (organise into smaller sub groups if you have more than 5 people)

Time frame: 60 - 120 min

Materials: Post-it notes / paper, pens / markers

  • At the top of your paper / post-it note address the person you are giving Feedback to, write their name. To ________:

  • Complete the following two sentences for your person

    “To _____:

    - What I appreciate most about you is...

    - What I would like to see more from you is...

    From, _____.”

    Sign it with your name.

  • Complete the above sentences using one piece of paper / post-it for evey other person in your group.

  • Once everyone in your group has finished writing, deliver the feedback!

Sit all together in a circle. Start with one person and each share out loud what you have written for them. Hand the post-it note to its addressee after you have read it aloud. Repeat until all group members have received their Appreciation Feedback.

  • Spend a bit of time together soaking up the great vibe you’ve just created and the sense of appreciation you have for each other!
